When a building is to be sold or given for rent, a specific application form is to be filled out.

Such an application is called COMUNICAZIONE DI CESSIONE FABBRICATO (STATEMENT OF TRANSFER OF REAL ESTATE). It is to be signed by the original owner and delivered to Public Authorities no later than 48 hours after the building has been handed in to the new tenant/owner.
