Every building in Italy is registered at CATASTO, which is open to public consultation.
CATASTO is an official register created for taxation purposes; it details ownership, boundaries, and the value of real property located in a district.
Areas are registered at CATASTO TERRENI (C. T.), whereas buildings or urban areas are registered at NUOVO CATASTO EDILIZIO URBANO (N. C. E. U.). All the above mentioned registers are kept at CONSERVATORIE PROVINCIALI (Provincial Archives).
